Appointments
Mr. Abrahams is an experienced manager, former diplomat and a holder of international patents. He served as the Consul General for the Government of Jamaica in Miami in charge of 5 southern states including Texas, from 1981 to 1983. He then served as the Executive Director of the Bureau of Management Support, Office of the Prime Minister Jamaica House, Kingston from 1983 to 1985, delivering current operational information on all Ministries on a weekly basis. He has served on the Jamaica Manufacturer's Association, Jamaica Exporter's Association, and Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce and as an Information Technology Consultant to the ICWI group, one of Jamaica's largest conglomerates. He has also served on the National Housing Trust Board, the West Indies Pulp and Paper Board of Directors and was responsible for the dismantling of the restrictive licensing Government Trade Board in Jamaica. He consulted as General Manager of Facey Commodity's Hardware Division until December 1st 1998 and as the IT Consultant to the Office of Utilities Regulation until September 2011, and the Ministry of Justice until 2022.
Experience
Mr. Abrahams worked for three years for Tropical Battery Company rising to the post of General Manager and Director in 1970. He then joined the Industrial Commercial Development Group as Managing Director of Tropicair Jalousies Ltd., a manufacturer of household windows, doors and industrial roller shutters. In 1974, he started his own firm; Coated Fabrics WI Ltd., manufacturing vinyl coated products, and served as its Managing Director until 1977, when he migrated to Miami, U.S.A. He served as the Operations Vice President of Associated Paint & Plastics, a manufacturer of industrial and household paints until 1981 when he was appointed Consul General for Miami. After his service to the Jamaican Government ended in 1984-5, he has been the Chairman/Managing Director of various IT providers. Cage is a provider of information technology hardware and software solutions in Kingston, Jamaica, Miami and Grand Cayman. Cage also markets Internet ready solutions for service, manufacturing and export industries in the Caribbean.
Education & Training
Mr. Abrahams earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with Systems Analysis from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, N.Y. in 1968, and a Master of Science in Management from the Graduate School of Management of RPI. He has extensive database experience and represented IBM's RISC system series of computers as a qualified business partner. He has installed systems in Miami, Grand Cayman and Jamaica, and completed diploma courses in many programming languages, Unix Administration and Linux system administration. He has installed all Windows operating systems and is presently representing the Infolab (IES) ERP Internet ready software solutions.
